(AP) -- ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- An ethics complaint filed against the Arlington mayor accuses him of asking the only minority City Council member whether he was attending a conference for "a bunch of Mexicans."
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram, which obtained the document through an open records request, said it was filed against Mayor Robert Cluck by an unidentified city employee.
The complaint says Cluck made the comment February 7th in council member Robert Rivera's office.
Cluck said he recalls asking Rivera whether he was attending a Latino event at a Mexican restaurant. He said he apologizes if anyone was offended by something they thought they heard him say.
Rivera told the mayor he was attending the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials.
